At Thornbury Area Youth Music (TAYM), we’re excited to be expanding our team and are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Woodwind Tutor to join us from September 2026.
Since launching in 2015, we’ve grown into a vibrant charity supporting over 100 young musicians aged 4–18 across South Gloucestershire and North Bristol. Our mission is simple: to make high-quality music-making accessible to all, remove barriers to participation, and inspire a lifelong love of music.
As part of our friendly team of tutors, you’ll deliver woodwind lessons to individuals and small groups, from beginners through to more advanced players. You’ll also have the opportunity to direct or co-direct ensembles and play a key role in our lively Saturday morning music centre at Manorbrook Primary School.
Our sessions are full of energy and variety, from orchestras and wind groups to theory, improvisation, and choir. We take pride in creating a supportive environment where every young person can progress and perform, with end-of-term concerts that bring our whole community together.
This role typically involves around 3–3.5 hours of teaching on Saturday mornings during term time, with a current pay rate of £36 per hour. Beyond teaching, you’ll be part of a collaborative and passionate team dedicated to musical excellence and enjoyment.
If you’re passionate about inspiring young musicians and want to be part of something special, we’d love to hear from you.
Applications close on 8 May 2026.
